Colours of Autumn: Nail Edition

Autumn is my favourite season by far, birthdays, cooler weather and all the lovely warm shades start to make an appearance. Like a lot of people I really love berry shades in Autumn so I thought I would do a 'Colour of Autumn' series showcasing my favourite colours for this seasons nails, lips and eyes.

First up we have the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Hold 'Em, this is quite a different shade for me as I usually prefer darker purples than this but it offers something a little lighter and brighter than the usual shades that start to come out in Autumn. It is also the perfect transitional shade when you're making the change from bright late Summer colours. However, this is my first product from the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy range and I am very impressed, the finish is absolutely lovely, it lasts very well and the colour looks great on the nails.

Next we have Nails Inc Gel Effect in Kensington High Street which is my absolute perfect Autumnal shade. This kind of burgundy shade is probably one of my all time favourite colours, so it's natural that this has had the most use the past month or so. I love the new packaging of the Nail Inc products and this nail polish had been on my wish list for a little while as I was dying to find something to give me that amazing gel effect which was easy to do at home. The formula is absolutely lovely, it's thick, very glossy and has your nails looking perfect for Autumn. Definitely my favourite here.

Finally, there is Revlon Parfumerie in Autumn Spice which was a very different product for me to pick up. Unless it's a highlighter or eyeshadow I'm not into very glittery things as I prefer solid colours, especially on my nails, however, this varnish has a lovely mix of golds and berry tones that look great together. I'm also not really into it when products have novelty smells (remember those weirdly scented gel pens for school?) but really, who can resist an autumnal scent? It does have a light spicey scent which is great when you forget your polish is scented and it catches your nose every now and then (although, I'd wait until it's completely dried before you try and smell it as that strong varnish scent can be very harsh - silly Jess). Due to the yellow/orange tones you will need an undercoat with this varnish as I did learn the hard way and it stained my nails, but apart from that this is an excellent iridescent autumnal shade.

What are your favourite nail picks for the Autumn months?

  4. Does the Parfumerie scent last long? I've wanted to try one for ages but don't know if I should just for the novelty!
